Apple Takes a Bite and is coming to this years FCPUG Supermeet!

~RE-POST from

The Ninth Annual FCPUG Las Vegas SuperMeet. Agenda Set!

The agenda is set for the Ninth Annual FCPUG Las Vegas SuperMeet, to be held at the Rio Hotel and Casino on NAB Tuesday, April 13. Except we can’t give you a lot of the details because a lot of what we are going to show you is still SuperSecret.

But we can tell you this:
The times, they are a changing. It is no longer enough to know just Final Cut Pro. You need to know not only what other NLEs are out there, but how they might or might not benefit you. You need to know the differences and you need to know how to use them if you want to compete in today's job market. So this year, for the very first time in SuperMeet history we will bring to the SuperMeet stage Adobe Production Premium, Avid Media Composer and Apple FInal Cut Studio. That’s right, the 3A’s on one stage. Hug a puppy, share the love and learn something you need to know. Details on these presentations to come in the next few days.

In addition to this milestone, we will have user-driven presentations from Canon, who will show off their latest and greatest. Blackmagic Design will show off something SuperSecret. ARRI will showcase the brand new ALEXA Digital Cinema Camera, and what would the 2010 SuperMeet be if we didn't show 3D? So we will. Of course we will do it a bit different and show off AFFORDABLE 3D from production to post. Plus Hand Held Hollywood will select and show off the top five iApps every digital content creator needs for his/her iPhone/iPad. We will wrap things up with the World Famous Raffle where as of today we have over $76,000 worth of prizes to hand out to dozens of lucky winners. All in one night. Whew!

Hurry, as tickets are on sale now for only $15.00 each (plus $1.36 ticket fee), $10.00 for students with Valid ID and $20.00 at the door if there are any left to sell at the door. >

Doors will open at 4:00PM for the SuperMeet Digital Showcase featuring over 34 software and hardware developers showing off their solutions. This is your chance not only to see the new toys and software solutions, but get your problems solved by some of the best and brightest minds in the digital world. In addition we will inaugurate the very first Las Vegas SuperMeet Open Screen Theatre. Get seen! You have up to 10 minutes to showcase your movie. Bring it on DVD or a QT file on a thumb drive. You never know who will be watching, so show up early, sign up and get up and show off. It will be first come, first serve.

Not enough? We will also be live streaming the show so if you cannot make it to the event, grab a cocktail and sit back and watch on your computer screen courtesy of Boinx and ZapLive TV. But hey, it’s so much more fun being at a SuperMeet so plan to be there. >

Also, and this is going to be HUGE, Issue #4 of the popular SuperMag will be announced and available for download at the start of NAB. The SuperMag will be filled with tutorials and feature articles and linked video tutorials from some of the best Digital Video minds in the world. Issue #4 of the SuperMag will be optimized for the iPad and released online at the start of NAB. Look for it here: >

Keep watching this page for daily updates as well as a link to where to buy tickets. >

See you in Las Vegas at the Rio Hotel on April 13, 2010. It will not only be historical, it’s going to be HUGE!
